Dr. Patrick Blatchford, a distinguished surgeon, is renowned for his expertise and compassionate care at Chestnut Wellness, located in the heart of Arkansas City, Kansas.
As a proud alumnus and lifelong resident of Arkansas City, Dr. Blatchford's journey in medicine is deeply rooted in his community.
He began his academic pursuit at
Cowley County Community College, earning an Associate of Science degree, followed by a comprehensive undergraduate education at
Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas, where he majored in biology, chemistry, and molecular biology.
Dr. Blatchford's passion for medicine and teaching led him to become an adjunct professor at his alma mater, Cowley County Community College, shaping the minds of future healthcare professionals.
His medical journey then took him to the prestigious University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City, where he honed his medical expertise.
A testament to his dedication and skill, Dr. Blatchford completed a rigorous surgical residency at the Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, Virginia.
During this time, he was honored with several awards, including the Outstanding Instructor of Medical Students, the Bruce Baird Award for his research in trauma and critical care, and the Gold Foundation’s Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award.
Upon completing his residency, Dr. Blatchford returned to Arkansas City, joining the
South Central Kansas Medical Center, where his exceptional service earned him multiple Preceptor of the Year awards from
Wichita State University. His leadership skills shone as he served as chairman of the South Central Kansas Regional Trauma Committee and now as the medical director for
Arkansas City Fire and EMS.

In 2021, alongside his wife Crystal, Dr. Blatchford embarked on a new venture, founding Chestnut Wellness and Blatchford Aesthetics, further solidifying his commitment to enhancing wellness and beauty in his community.
He is also an associate professor at the
Kansas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Wichita, continuing his passion for educating future medical practitioners.
Dr. Blatchford's life outside the clinic is rich with family and hobbies. He enjoys spending time with his wife and five children, embracing outdoor activities like fishing, camping, boating, and hunting.
A true music enthusiast, he finds joy in playing the drums, piano, and guitar.
